accounting assisstant

Position Description: Accounting Assistant 2                                
 
Reports To: Chief Financial Officer
 

Job Summary:


Employees in this job correct, process and reconcile a wide variety of accounting documents such as invoices and departmental billings while compiling and reviewing information for accuracy. Work is performed by applying knowledge of accounting terminology and using spreadsheets and/or automated accounting systems.
 
 
Results 100% Accountable For:
 
  1. Work closely with CFO and Accounting department to make sure company and departmental goals are met. 
  2. Know and understand finance related matters – receivables, payables, cost accounting, etc.
  3. Ensures the accuracy and completeness of all cost tracking for job projects.
  4. Communicate with inside the fence departments including Sales and Project Management, whilst keeping CFO and Accounting up to date on information communicated/status of projects.
  5. Lead by example, always making the right choice. Maintain high ethical standards which include integrity, honesty, and excellent moral character.
  6. Maintains a clean and professional office and work area environment.
  7. Always meet or exceed the safety, quality, housekeeping, and production efficiency objectives while always maintain a culture of continuous improvement.
  8. Foster a culture of teamwork. Encourage new and existing employees to work together as a team.
  9. Always maintain a positive attitude. Participate in all safety and other company specific programs.
 
 
Tasks 100% Accountable to Do:
 
  • Assist with accounts receivable collections.
  • Follow up on orders to ensure materials are shipped and delivered as promised.
  • Maintain records and follow up files of purchasing, shipments and related matters.
  • General office tasks and extra duties as needed and/or assigned – filing, typing, copying, etc.
  • Maintain professional and organized area and upkeep tidy work environment.
 
Required Skills:
  • Self-motivated, positive attitude, helpful and have strong organizational and planning skills
  • Able to multi-task at any given time and provide attention to accuracy and detail
  • Excellent communication skills; both oral and written
  • Computer and mathematical skills (i.e. Excel, Office, Word.)
  • Customer service oriented
