Are you a motivated, self-starter who is passionate about living and working in South Dakota? Then consider joining the Governor's Office of Economic Development (GOED) as a Management Information Systems (MIS) Administrator. As the MIS Administrator, you will be responsible for maintaining and coordinating all of GOED's technology solutions. Primary duties include being the administrator for GOED's CRM System and website including adding or deleting fields, setting up reports, monitoring licenses, and assigning user permissions. This position will also provide administrative support to the ConnectSD program enhancing broadband services across the state. Additionally, this person will be the primary IT point of contact for GOED. 
This position is exempt from the Civil Service Act.
The Ideal Candidate Will Have:
  • an aptitude for technology solutions, an understanding of business and economics, strong organizational skills, and a desire to learn.
Knowledge of:
  • all Microsoft and Adobe software platforms and applications including Microsoft Dynamics;
  • general knowledge of information security;
  • an understanding of data science and how its used to drive decision making;
  • a basic understanding of how economic development missions are carried out;
  • basic knowledge of changing and emerging trends in technology solutions.
Skills to:
  • create reports and dashboards to keep information organized for accessibility, efficiency, and meaningfulness;
  • identify and communicate changes in technology and how GOED operations can benefit;
  • manage projects for implementing technology changes in the organization;
  • understand databases, analytics, and blending technology to improve operations;
  • perform basic C+ programming is desirable but not required;
  • document processes and procedures.
Abilities to:
  • learn and apply new technologies to enhance existing operations;
  • train staff on technology usage to achieve consistent agency-wide data input/output;
  • communicate effectively;
  • organize time and resources to achieve goals and objectives;
  • think outside of the box to meet agency needs;
  • keep sensitive information confidential;
  • work both independently and in a team environment.
