Human Resources Intern

Job Description
The Human Resources Intern will work with the Human Resources team in assisting with a variety of projects and initiatives focused on enhancing the end-to-end employee life cycle experience, including talent acquisition, onboarding/orientation, benefits and wellness, employee engagement and events, HR compliance, HR analytics, and project management.

Essential Functions
Benefits and Wellness
  • Assist with the planning of employee health and wellness benefits, including student loan repayment program and mental health first aid training
HR Data Analytics
  • Assist with the analysis of trends and metrics
  • Make recommendations and prepare reports based on analysis
Compliance
  • Assist with the digitization of employee records
  • Assist with the documentation of HR processes
 
Talent Acquisition
  • Assist with job postings, screening resumes, and coordinating interviews, as needed
  • Assist with onboarding new employees and new employee orientation, as needed
  •  
Employee Engagement and Internal Communication
  • Assist with the planning of employee events
  • Assist with the planning and maintenance of Intranet content, as needed
Project Management
  • Track progress, priorities, and deadlines of various HR projects
  • Prepare Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint documents
  • Prepare meeting documentation and minutes
HR Process Enhancements
  • Identify, implement or lead enhancements to HR processes
  • Promote diversity and inclusion through HR processes and initiatives to ensure inclusivity of backgrounds and perspectives
 Compliance
  • Performs other duties as assigned 
  • Adhere to all company policies, procedures and business ethics codes
  • Complete required regulatory training as assigned
  • Maintain strict adherence and compliance to all laws, rules, regulations and internal controls specific to your role, including but not limited to Bank Secrecy Act, Anti-Money Laundering, USA Patriot Act, OFAC and Fair Lending regulation

Experience
Minimum Qualification
  • Currently enrolled as a full-time student with an accredited college or university
  • Minimum of 30 completed academic hours
  • Project management experience
  • Data analytics experience (including school and professional assignments)
  • Customer service experience
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
  • Reliable transportation and valid driver’s license. Job may require travel to various locations throughout the Austin metro area.
  • Must be bondable
 
Preferred Qualification
  • Bachelor’s degree, with a focus on Human Resources or nonprofit management
  • Graduate student
  • Bilingual Spanish / English
  • SHRM Student Member
  • Experience working in a professional office environment
  • Experience working with databases
