Corporate Communications Intern

Job Description
The Corporate Communications Intern is a self-starter who will assist corporate and brand management communications efforts. This intern will have the opportunity to experience various aspects of developing corporate communications team. The Corporate Communications Internship is a professional skills internship to assist the Brand and Communications Manager in implementing internal and external organizational communications and public relations strategies. The Corporate Communications Intern will work independently and in a team to fulfill organizational goals and initiatives related to programming and events.

Essential Functions
  • Assist in drafting news releases and internal communications including power point presentations
  • Assist in the coordination of events and meetings
  • Update company internal communications including maintenance of UFCU intranet and messaging screens.
  • Assist in updating social network channels as directed
  • Assist in the planning and execution of the select strategic projects
  • Assist in gathering creative assets for internal and external events
  • Assist in gathering photos and video of internal events
  • Assist with reporting when directed
  • Coordinate special projects to support department initiatives
 
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities
  • Understanding of the basic principles of public relations and/or marketing
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment
  • Strong written communications, presentation, and customer-service skills
  • Very detail-oriented
  • Strong Microsoft Office skills (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Must be able to handle multiple projects, competing deadlines, and be able to work well under pressure

Experience
Minimum Qualification
  • Currently enrolled as a full-time student with one of our 6 partnered accredited institution/ university
  • Minimum of 30 completed academic hours
  • Must be bondable
 
Preferred Qualification
  • Bachelor’s degree with major in Marketing, Communications, Journalism, or English
