Undergraduate Research Assistant

The Imanishi lab is looking for a few part-time undergraduate student workers to help with basic laboratory experiments and maintenance tasks such as making buffers and solutions, washing dishware, sterilizing lab equipment via autoclave, and other basic research-related tasks. The student should be interested in science and willing to learn new techniques. Our lab uses cutting-edge technology to study the cell biology and neurobiology of retina and we can share our knowledge and experience to get you more involved in science.
 
Potential applicants should be:

--Willing to learn new things
--Willing to work on animals including Xenopus laevis and mouse
--Interested in biological sciences 
--Willing to work more than 8 - 10 hours a week
--Responsible and timely 
--Previous lab experience is welcome but not necessary
 
Students will learn:

--basic laboratory skills required for biomedical research
--how to operate and maintain state of the art laboratory instruments
--how to better communicate in science
