This Women, Infants, and Children (WIC) Program Integrity Specialist (Health Program Specialist I) position will provide services primarily for the WIC Supplemental Food Program, promoting nutrition and healthy lifestyle choices for South Dakota families. This position will have an opportunity to provide leadership to the program in the area of Program Integrity. This position will build successful relationships with community members, grocery store operators (vendors), clinic staff, and participants to accomplish this important initiative. Provide ongoing technical assistance, training, and monitoring for program compliance. Train and implement the statewide vendor liaison support system. Monitor vendor activity to assure compliance with the agreement. This position will investigate complaints, review, and resolve complaints, and work with the public health management teams to ensure the WIC program meets federal requirements for WIC services delivery.
Travel will be required for the position, and overnights will be required both in state and out of state for training and conference attendance.
Licenses and Certifications:
A Bachelor’s Degree is preferred or 3-5 years of work with investigations.
The Ideal Candidate Will Have:
The ability to work within a team environment and independently to accomplish the position requirements; address and bring forward issues/concerns from vendors, clinic staff, participants, and co-workers. Have previous investigation experience based on observation, data review, data analysis experience, and the ability to work with Tableau and other software for documentation purposes.
Knowledge of:
- Universal Product Codes;
- Tableau software;
- investigation techniques;
- contractual management would be helpful for this position.
