Medication Aide(Job Id 17714)
Join the field of Correctional Health at the Jameson Annex! Correctional Health staff provide health care to an underserved population in a secure clinic environment. Medication Aides work under the direct supervision of a nurse to perform basic patient care services to include medication administration. Medication Aides are full-time and work three 12-hour shifts, 9 a.m. - 9:30 p.m. and will be included in a weekend and holiday rotation. Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds and climb up to five flights of stairs.

Licenses and Certifications:
This is not a licensed or certified position, but certified nursing assistants are encouraged to apply. If applicant does not have Medication Aide certification, we will provide training.
The Ideal Candidate Will Have:
Prior experience in a health care setting
Knowledge:
- the principles of patient care, such as first aid and housekeeping;
- medical terminology, medical equipment and supplies;
- medications and reactions to medications;
- basic arithmetic;
- basic computer skills.
Ability to:
- work with speed and accuracy in critical situations;
- follow oral and written instructions in detail;
- prepare records and reports;
- maintain satisfactory relationships with other employees;
- perform a variety of routine cleaning tasks;
- maintain empathetic attitude toward patients;
- perform routine procedures accurately;
- maintain patient confidentiality.
