POSITION OVERVIEW
Field Data Surveyors (Field Data Specialists) gather commercial property information, including landscape mapping, architectural measurements, utility services, property assets, and other property information, translating real world commercial properties into accurate, interactive digital site plans.
Using cartography, Geographical Information Systems (GIS) mapping, 3D Cameras, laser measuring devices, and surveying skills, our surveyors create virtual tours and site plans by surveying, measuring, and gathering data on every element of a commercial property inside and out, including parking areas, rooftops, HVAC units, landscaping, utility meters, bathroom measurements, wall outlets, window heights, lighting information, and more.
COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS:
Base Salary: $18 to $21 per hour, depending on experience

SKILLS AND REQUIREMENTS
- Willing and able to travel extensively, away from home for up to 10-14 days at a time with 2-4 days between trips (not all trips are long, but you should be prepared to assume many will be)
- Reliable vehicle that can carry a 7-foot extension ladder and drive long distances (up to 500 miles per week) as needed
- Strong iPad and computer skills, with proven knowledge using tablets and stylus pens, downloading and updating apps without help, connecting to WiFi and Bluetooth, and use of smartphone navigation and messaging
- Maintaining a professional appearance, even after working outside for long hours
- Able to lift at least 50 pounds without assistance
- Not squeamish about bugs, animals, or other things found on or near commercial properties
- Excellent organizational, time management skills, self-discipline, and self-motivation
- Experience with architect work, mapping, surveying, floorplans, site plans, or blueprints
DAY-TO-DAY TASKS
- Drive (up to 500 miles per week) or fly to commercial properties and create virtual tours, map details, and place landmark assets with a high degree of accuracy
- Professionally and frequently communicate with team, including Quality Control and Regional Managers to update progress, respond to requests, and clarify information
- Meet performance expectations for quality, accuracy, communication, and efficiency
- Safely climb ladders onto commercial rooftops (up to 25-feet in height) and work outside in all types of weather
- Find, measure, survey, map, track, and report every site detail of properties, including surveying and mapping of landscapes, tree lines, shrubbery, pathways, etc., counting and mapping parking spaces and speed bumps, gathering fire safety equipment information, including location of access panels, note details and photograph signage and equipment data such as size, location, manufacturer, model, and serial of HVAC and dumpster equipment, etc.
- Survey, map, measure, and record details such as wall lengths, window heights, restroom areas, closets, doors, wall outlets, vents, ceiling tiles and heights, lighting information, and more
- Draw architectural spaces to scale, adding verified data using proprietary software and iPads
- Quickly and accurately gather utility meter information (water, gas, electric), including calling local utility companies for assistance
- Collaborate with logistics team to manage personal travel agenda and meet project deadlines
- Politely and professionally communicate and engage with property managers, utility service providers, site security, members of the public, and internal team members
- Attend video conference meetings, team calls, trainings, and participate in discussion channels
- Use graphic design, architectural, and digital cartography tools, mapping software, and surveyor tools such as laser distance meters, 3D cameras, measuring wheels, ladders, and hand tools
- Complete assigned training on time and demonstrate proficiency with safety, customer service, communication, technical skills, and other proficiencies
- Other tasks, duties and responsibilities, as assigned
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS (with or without reasonable accommodations)
- Ability to climb, stand, sit, or walk for extended periods (up to three hours at a time)
- Ability to distinguish colors such as red, green, and brown electrical wires
- Some bending and twisting may be required (for example, to file paperwork)
- Manual dexterity and visual acuity for intensive computer tasks (such as typing, using common software, viewing reports, dashboards, and websites, as well as handling computer peripherals such as a mouse and keyboard)
- Ability to lift at least 50 lbs. without assistance (such as to maneuver ladders, set up camera tripods, carry 3D Cameras, mounts, and demo tables)
