Working in conjunction with the Logistics Manager, Operations Director & Festival Manager, and other members of the administrative team, the Studio Assistant’s primary responsibility is to ensure that the Institute’s faculty and students are connected with the correct resources to meet their needs during their time at the Institute.

  • Online Training: 6/18/22 – 6/20/22
  • Staff Arrival Date: 6/21/22
  • In-Person Training: 6/22/22 – 6/23/22
  • Summer Festival: 6/24/22 – 8/7/22
  • Staff Departure Date: 8/8/22
Due to the collaborative nature of the position, the Studio Assistant should be an individual with strong interpersonal skills–namely effective communication and respectful demeanor. Additionally, a successful Studio Assistant will have professional experience with and/or aptitude for customer service and problem solving.
The Studio Assistant will work in the Institute’s administrative offices & teaching facilities and, as such, is expected to dress in appropriate attire. Ripped jeans, mini skirts, halter-tops, tank tops, shorts, and t-shirts with graphics are discouraged during business hours and concerts.

Requirements for the Studio Assistant position are as follows:
  • A high school diploma is required and a bachelor’s degree (or current enrollment in a bachelor’s degree program) in music performance, music education, or arts administration is preferred
  • Experience with customer service and/or resource management in a professional setting
  • Knowledge or experience in classical music
  • Comfortable making phone calls and writing emails
  • Ability to complete tasks in a self-directed manner
  • Responsive and attentive to communications during expanded business hours (8:00 – 22:00)
  • Ability to healthily cope with stressful and demanding situations
  • A commitment to the principles of diversity, equity, and inclusion as they relate to the Heifetz Institute and its community
  • Adheres to the Heifetz Institute policies and procedures in accordance with the mission and philosophy of the program
  • Proof of up-to-date vaccination against COVID-19 with an FDA approved or authorized vaccine

Responsibilities of the Studio Assistant are as follows:
  • Handling student and faculty requests by connecting them to the appropriate resource or relaying the information to the appropriate staff member
  • Ensure correct set-up of faculty student on a daily basis
  • Handle day-to-day assigned studio needs
  • Provide administrative support, as needed
  • Staffing concerts and/or special events as required
  • Attending all appropriate meetings

Compensation
Compensation is $2,800 for the contracted period. Housing and meals will be provided for the duration of the contract. Employment is contingent upon the signing of a contract by the Scheduling Coordinator and the Heifetz Institute, as well as passing a background check. The Scheduling Coordinator will be responsible for their own transportation costs to and from the Institute.
