Mortgage Loan Specialist

Job Summary: Support the processing, closing, and underwriting of residential real estate loans. Provide a wealth of knowledge and detail-oriented verification to the loan assembly and closing process. Frequently interacts with internal and external customers to procure loan documentation, answer questions, coordinate loan closings, and ensure an efficient and successful experience for the customer. Underwrite Consumer TRID loans in accordance with Ability to Repay and Qualified Mortgage (ATR/QM) standards. Promotes an environment of teamwork within the department and across the bank. Represents INTRUST Bank in all they do in the community and is focused on the development of new business relationships. Must maintain strict standards of confidentiality and perform duties in a manner supporting INTRUST’s character qualities.

Essential Functions:

Interacts with loan originators, customers, realtors, and other vendors to follow-up on documentation and information as it pertains to residential real estate loans and closings.
Review files received from processing thoroughly to check that all documents needed for closing are included in the file. Work with processing to obtain any missing documentation.
Set up new loan files, order appropriate third-party services such as appraisal, title, flood certificate, evidence of insurance.
Verify the accuracy and consistency of all loan information. Verify data provided from third-party sources such as title commitment, appraisal, and insurance documentation. Update the loan origination system as applicable.
Generate closing documentation and organize into industry standard package format.
Prepare closing instructions and the closing disclosure and coordinate with settlement agents to monitor closing and funding.
Ensure all closing and funding conditions are met based on underwriting conditions and investor requirements.
Audit the closed loan file to ensure all necessary documents were signed and returned correctly.
Ship files to secondary market investors in accordance with industry and investor expectations.
Calculate wire amount and verify accuracy with settlement agents.
Support the manager of Residential Real Estate with projects as deemed appropriate for the business unit.
Underwrite Consumer Lending loans in accordance with ATR/QM standards.
Education and Experience: High school diploma or equivalent with at least three years loan processing or loan closing experience required.

Required Skills and Knowledge: Proficiency with Microsoft Word and Excel. Ability to multi-task and have a high degree of detail orientation. Excellent organization and problem-solving skills. Communication skills both phone and email. Encompass experience is a plus.

Required Licenses and/or Certifications: None.

Physical Demands: Extended period(s) of time viewing personal computer, sitting, standing, and walking. Occasional lifting up to 25 lbs.

Working Conditions: Normal office conditions.
