Content and Resource Specialist, Economic Empowerment

Job Description

SCOPE:
The Content and Resource Specialist, Economic Empowerment supports IRC’s Economic Empowerment programs in nearly 30 US cities and, intermittently in Europe and on other international projects.  The position is responsible for providing the economic empowerment technical team with support in key areas including small business development programs.
Major Responsibilities:
●        Work with economic empowerment technical expert(s) to identify content and learning objectives for key program areas
●        Provide guidance on the best option(s) for delivering learning content for diverse adult learners both in-person and through digital platform(s)
●        Regularly develop, adapt, edit, and repurpose high-quality multimedia content for multicultural, multilingual audiences, especially adult learners
●        Provide coordination and support to ensure that content and resources are available in-language (written, video, audio, other) through the use of in-house and contracted translation and interpretation services
●        Ensure content is accurate, complete, easy to understand, engaging, and renders correctly
●        Use the content management system and other tools to prepare content for publication.
●        Maintain knowledge of relevant production and editing tools and software(s) for the production of written, video, photo, and digital resources
●        Lead ongoing and regularly maintenance of knowledge management for the economic empowerment team, including ensuring that HQ and field-developed resources are easily accessible, meet minimum standards, and are available to internal and external stakeholders as needed
KEY WORKING RELATIONSHIPS
Position reports to: Senior Program Officer, Economic Empowerment
The Content and Resource Specialist, Economic Empowerment maintains close working relationships the economic empowerment technical staff, staff in field offices, staff in the Program Quality & Innovation unit, and Research, Analysis and Learning unit.
Requirements:
·         BA/BS or equivalent experience in graphic and digital design, multimedia journalism, computer science, digital communications or relevant field.
·         Experience working with and developing content for multicultural, multilingual audiences.
·         Experience using graphic design software(s) required
·         Experience with video and photo production and editing required
·         Experience developing content specifically for adult learning and skill development strongly preferred
·         Solid understanding of the digital landscape, social media platforms, and what makes digital content work.
·         Experience with website content management and familiarity with HTML an asset
·         Demonstrated ability to successfully work in a fast-paced environment within and across departments/functions/geographic locations and develop positive relationships with local and remote based staff.
·         Solid organizational skills with the ability to juggle multiple tasks, set priorities, effectively manage time, and meet deadlines.
·         Detail orientated and self-directed.
