Summer Technical Theatre Internships
The Naples Players is searching for motivated, confident, and creative theatre artists for our Summer Internship Program. Interns will work closely with the professional full-time staff members in mounting the summer 2022-2023 season. Qualified interns may also have the opportunity to assistant or fully design costumes for KidzAct, The Naples Players’ youth theatre program, the blackbox, or the MainStage production.
The internship is approximately a 3 month program, with housing located walking distance to the theatre and downtown Naples. Start and end dates are negotiable.
Positions available stage management, scenic, costume, lighting, sound, props, development/marketing, education, and admin.
All interns have day to day check ins with their department heads to establish daily and weekly tasks, then a once a month evaluation with the Internship Director to ensure both student and company goals are being reached. All interns are also provided with workshops throughout the season which can include: Resume/Cover Letter & Branding, Hydraulic Lift & Rigging Training, and Cross Departmental Training Days.
Requirements:
Minimum 18 years of age
Recent graduate, or enrolled full or part time at a college or university
Majoring/minoring in Theatre or Theatre Education, or applicable degree
Minimum of 1 semester under Theatre degree
Basic knowledge in area of interest
The Naples Players is a one of the largest non-profit community theaters in the nation, located in scenic downtown Naples. The Players produce 6 plays, 3 musicals, reader’s theatre, and multiple children’s show every season. It consists of a professional full-time staff with experience ranging from regional theatre to off-Broadway and international. The Naples Players is devoted to their community and relies on the generous volunteers who eagerly participate in every department to create each season.
The Naples Players is dedicated to the health and safety of their communities. They have taken ample steps including:
1. Replacing all air filters with hospital grade MERV13 air filters.
2. Constant sanitation with First Defense in all areas, before and after use.
3. Installing REME HALO UV Units.
4. Every 90 days apply Belfort Bioprotect antimicrobial surface protectant.
5. All staff, volunteers, students, and patrons required to where masks while inside the theatre complex.
