Student Cybersecurity Risk Analyst

Have you ever bought candy from a vending machine and internally debated among several designs for a candy retrieval robot, but stopped short of building them because of a strong ethical code? Have you ever reverse-engineered your toaster so you could install infinitely adjustable analog controls? Do you sometimes lie awake in bed at night thinking about ways to break into Fort Knox without being caught so you can finally make that gold suit of armor you’ve been dreaming about for your Goldar from Mighty Morphin Power Rangers cosplay? Me neither, but if you are still reading, you might be a good fit for our team.

In this role, you will help our team defend the University from cyber-security attacks using your technical skills. To do this, you might be assisting in the creation of vulnerability management tools, writing programs to find and exploit vulnerabilities, or performing data analysis on vulnerability and attack data.

The most important ingredients for success on this team are a healthy rational distrust of most things, an insatiable curiosity about how things work, and a fiery passion about something weird. However, please note that this is a technical position and, while you will certainly learn a lot on the job, no specific technical training will be provided. Your success in this role will depend on your current technical knowledge and experience as well as your ability to self-teach.

This position requires you to maintain internet service and a mobile phone with voice and data plans to be used when required for work. Must be eligible to work in the United States on a part-time basis for any employer without sponsorship.
