DESCRIPTION OF WORK UNIT
The mission of Laboratory Animal Resources (LAR) is to use our expertise to provide the highest standard of care for laboratory animals in support of the Colorado State University research community. These positions fulfill a vital role in the administration of LAR to carry out this mission. CSU LAR manages over 48,000 ft. of AAALAC accredited research animal facilities on three campuses, including Main Campus, South Campus, and Foothills Campus. Research and teaching activities supported by LAR include infectious disease research, including ABSL work using select agents, cancer biology, hibernation, nutrition, and metabolism studies, orthopedic research, therapeutics, toxicology and teaching activities to support a diverse program of learning. LAR exists to provide state of the art care and support for the animal models component of these studies.

POSITION SUMMARY
To provide custodial/stocking duties to LAR personnel and the research labs who do research within the LAR facilities.

ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES
Cleaning: 65%
• Will be responsible for cleaning and stocking bathrooms at both Painter and Foothills facilities. (PA)
• Clean and disinfect breakrooms, meeting rooms, kitchen, locker rooms, scrub/mop, designated floors and walls, laundry room and remove any marks on floors. (PA)
• Stock locker rooms and hallways with supplies. (PA)
• Clean out designated refrigerators. (PA)
• Clean glass and stainless steel in hallways. (PA)
• Vacuum halls and other assigned areas. (PA)
• Disinfect all (flat) surface areas. (PA)
• Fill any disinfectant bottles and check expiration dates. (PA)
• Wash accessible exterior windows. (PA)
• Spot clean walls. (PA)
• Dust blinds in front office areas. (PA)
• Pour water down all floor drains. (PA)
• Disposal of waste baskets.
• Safely operate and maintain assigned power equipment and hand tools: floor machines, vacuums, brooms, mops, squeegees, etc. and observe proper PPE procedures.
Laundry: 15%
• Process laundry: Fold sheets and towels and place in their appropriate places, sort and fold socks and stock in locker rooms. (PA)
Maintenance for facility and reporting issues: 15%
• Report to Facility Manager who is responsible for the direction of housekeeping services in the facility.
• Follow instructions regarding the use of chemicals and supplies.
• Assist with equipment inventory control and other assigned duties.
• Vermin monitoring.
• Building safety/environment.
Other: 5%
Other duties as assigned (IT). 

POSITION MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS 
• Must have reliable transportation.
• Must be able to travel from building to building (main campus to foothills).
• Must be able to work during winter and summer breaks. Monday-Friday.
• Students with or without work study awards are welcome to apply.
PREFERRED JOB QUALIFICATIONS
• Previous experience preferred but not needed.
