Intern, Texas Athletics IT Services (PAID)

Job description summary: Texas Athletics is looking for a talented individual to serve as Enterprise Systems and Integration Intern. This position will support the Athletics Program Manager with a variety of tasks involving the data systems used by the department. This position will begin in the Spring 2022 semester or earlier based on intern availability.
 
Responsibilities
  • Provide customer support to Texas Athletics staff
  • Create professional technical documentation of data systems, including how-to videos, edits to SharePoint/DocuSign forms, etc.
  • Make changes to design and flow of web-based collaboration platforms (eg: Microsoft Teams, Power Automate, DocuSign, Box, Qualtrics, Smartsheet)
  • Onboard new staff and students into Electronic Medical Records (EMR) platform
  • Troubleshoot issues/bugs and update documentation as needed
  • Assisting with other tasks and projects
  • Consistently exemplify the core values (Diversity, Integrity, Accountability, Loyalty, Excellence, Creativity, Teamwork) and quality standards (Safety, Texas Hospitality, Teamwork, Efficiency) of Texas Athletics. Comply with all laws, policies, rules and regulations set forth by the Board of Regents of The University of Texas System, The University of Texas at Austin, NCAA, Big 12, or other governing body, including state and federal laws. Annually obtain prior written approval and report all outside activities and outside income. Report knowledge of, or reasonable cause to believe, violation(s) of state or federal laws, policies, rules, or regulations of the University, Big 12 Conference, or NCAA to IA ARMCS or IA HR. Fully cooperate with any investigation by providing complete and accurate information when requested to do so by Texas Athletics and/or the NCAA and do not influence others in any way during an investigation. As an employee of the university, if you witness or receive information about sexual harassment, sexual assault, dating violence or stalking that involves a current student or employee, you have a duty to promptly report the incident to the University’s Title IX Coordinator or a Deputy Title IX Coordinator. Reports may be made by phone, email or online. An employee who does not report an incident or who makes a false report is subject to termination and may be charged with a criminal offense (Class A or Class B misdemeanor). Position Details
  • Starting: Spring semester or earlier based on Intern availability
  • Part-time
  • Up to 27 hours/week
  • $10.00+ based on related experience
 
Required Qualifications
  • UT student enrolled in at least 6 hours for the Spring
  • Strong interest in information technology, data, and computing
  • Experience working with DBMS, e.g., storing and querying data
  • Highly motivated and able to self-direct and research solutions
  • Clear and concise communicator
  • Must be able to meet set work schedule/hours
  • Detail oriented

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Advanced Excel knowledge - power query, advanced lookup functions, and programming in VBA
  • Basic web-design, especially JavaScript, HTML, CSS and the common web frameworks
  • Experience with a web-based collaboration platform
  • Understand the basics of Project Management - defining requirements, deliverables, and scope
  • Experience with Microsoft Teams, Power Automate, Docusign, Box, Qualtrics, Smartsheet
