Entry Level Landscape Architect
JMorton is a planning and landscape architecture firm that services residential, institutional, commercial builders and developers. The firm works on a wide range of projects including master plans for large tracts of land, site plans for residential, commercial and civic parcels as well as landscape plans for entry features, pools and hardscape design. This person will assist Project Managers in preparation of site plans for submittals to government agencies. Daily activities include preparation of conceptual site plans; modification of plans based on Project Manager’s red line, government comments, input from client, etc.; preparation of graphics and PowerPoint presentations; and, attendance at government review meetings.
Position Requirements
· Degree in Landscape Architecture
· Strong AutoCAD, Microsoft (Word and Excel) skills
· Working knowledge of graphic software programs (Adobe Photoshop, Sketchup, Illustrator, and PowerPoint)
· Basic Knowledge of site planning
· Portfolio of work samples
· Positive attitude and a strong work ethic.
Minimum Experience:
0-4 years
Desired Qualifications:
· Experience working for residential and commercial builders and developers a plus
· Landscape and hardscape experience a plus
· Ability to manage multiple priorities
· Freehand illustration and rendering skills a plus
· Ability to review and apply government regulations correctly to site plans and landscape plans
· Self-motivated
· Ability to produce high quality work in a fast-paced environment.
· Good communication and verbal presentation skills
· Knowledge of Florida vegetation and growing conditions a plus
· Pursuit of Florida licensure a plus
