Carrier Digital Foundry Internship

The Digital Foundry Team at Carrier is an innovation studio that focuses on connected products and platforms. We are building solutions to reimagine large-scale systems that shape the way we live, work, and play. We're setting the standard for healthier, safer, and more resilient built environments – and connecting the cold chain to improve the process of safely shipping and storing food and critical medical supplies. 

Our team engages with design, engineering, and innovation challenges through a business-relevant, future-looking, and human-focused perspective. We challenge individuals to uncover insights through a holistic understanding of business, technical, and audience dynamics.
The Digital Foundry intern has a passion for built environments, an empathy for lived experiences, and an interest in IoT solutions. This role will work on a range of innovation projects critical to Carrier's continued business growth.
The Digital Foundry intern will have broad exposure across the design, business, and technical areas of the wider team. The intern will focus on one particular project area, depending on individual skillset and expertise.
Projects may include:

  • UX design
  • Product strategy
  • User research
  • Project management
  • Market research
Qualifications

  • US Citizen or Permanent Resident
  • COVID-19 vaccines will be required for all newly hired Carrier U.S. Salaried employees
  • The Digital Foundry intern has a passion for built environments, an empathy for lived experiences, and an interest in IoT solutions.
  • A curious, multi-disciplinary, and entrepreneurial mind
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, including report writing and presenting technical information.
  • Candidates should be self-motivated, able to work independently, organized, and able to follow directions well. Knowledge and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, changing environment are essential for success in this position
Education/Certifications

  • Pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Design Engineering, User Experience Design (UX), User Interface Design (UI), Human-Computer Interaction Design, Architecture/Urban Planning, Design Research, Business Strategy, or similar field
  • Project portfolio
  • GPA must be greater than or equal to 3.0 GPA
  • Relevant coursework or previous internships preferred
