CDP NA 2022 Local Government Engagement Fellow - Cities, States and Regions
Who you are
- You are passionate about local climate action and climate justice
- You are outgoing and comfortable engaging professionally and persistently with local government staff via phone and email
- You are interested in learning the technical details of reporting and climate and sustainability plans and policies and able to accurately communicate that information to local governments
- You are detail-oriented, a team player, interested in contributing to improving existing operational processes, and able to take ownership over your own work while collaborating with others
Your day-to-day
- You will encourage local government staff to participate in CDP reporting by conducting “cold call” phone outreach, sending emails, and delivering virtual presentations
- You will answer inbound queries from participants by email and phone on diverse topics ranging from technical account set-up to the value of disclosure
- You will provide local governments with thorough preliminary feedback on their reporting through the Response Check service and help staff understand areas for improvement
- You will connect local governments to resources to increase their capacity for climate action including CDP webinars and programs and initiatives by partner organizations
- You will keep contact data up to date in the CRM system
- You will track participation levels and progress to help inform overall engagement strategy
- You will assist with webinars and operational tasks as needed

- Compensation: The Local Governments Engagement Fellow role is paid $15/hour.
- Time Commitment: This is an 8-month part-time fellowship from January – August 2022; starting at 16 hours with potential for increase.
- Logistics: This position can be fully remote; hours can be flexible to accommodate the fellow’s schedule but must fall within Eastern or Pacific Time business hours
