Digital Marketing Specialist - Websites

Overview
The Digital (Web) Marketing Strategist develops and implements marketing strategies for Southco’s traditional and ecommerce websites. This person understands the needs of our customers and creates content and functionality to meet these needs. This person manages the 4 P’s of product marketing (Product, Price, Place, and Promotion) through the specific lens of the digital channels. This person is responsible to drive increased organic and direct traffic through SEO and continue to increase user satisfaction. They will work with our Content and Industry Marketers as well as our Graphic Design and other Digital Marketers to gather input and implement campaigns. In addition this person will drive sales growth through ecommerce, while ensuring that they complement our current sales channels.  
 
Qualifications
• 4 year degree in marketing or technical field.
• 1-2 years digital marketing experience. Web design or development experience should be included.
• 1 years of prior experience with web analytics and performance measurement required
• Basic understanding of HTML, javascript, css
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Magento experience is strongly preferred. Experience in other ecommerce platforms (in addition to Magento) is a plus.
• Marketo and Salesforce.com experience is preferred.
 
Responsibilities
• Identify & Prioritize Customer Needs – Working with Sales, Customers, and Industry & Product Managers, and User Experience teams, identify the needs for Southco’s Engineering and Ecommerce sites. Develop, maintain, and communicate these needs with the organization. Help to prioritize these projects.
• Web Content Development – Working with Industry and Product Managers identify content for Southco’s Engineering and Ecommerce sites. Assist with or Oversee content development to ensure it is fits customer needs for content and usability. Ensure that the User Interface / User Experience is modern and user-friendly.
• Functionality Development – Translate customer needs into functional specifications for new capabilities. Ensure that the websites are up-to-date with tools to optimize product selection, self-service ordering and order management, and other user expectations. Work with the web developers to ensure that they understand and efficiently implement changes.
• Online Marketing and SEO – Develop and implement plans to improve the marketing of Southco’s websites. Work with associates to improve SEO performance and measure program success. Develop and implement paid search campaigns where appropriate. 
• Develop Regional Ecommerce Plans – Work with regional sales and marketing teams to develop plans for their needs. Ecommerce needs vary significantly between the regions so work will be required with each team to modify their plans for optimal results. Work with Regional Channel Management (Sales and Distribution) to ensure clear understanding of the fit of ecommerce.
• Monitor Performance & Satisfaction – Monitor the website performance both technical (speed, availability, etc.) and traffic. Measure satisfaction through customer surveys. Work with the web development team to improve the sites’ technical performance.
