Multi-media intern

The Office of the Vice Provost for Undergraduate Education is looking for a driven, talented media specialist to create and implement visual concepts for distribution online, on social media, and in print publications. This person will work primarily on projects for the Center for Learning Analytics and Student Success (CLASS) with occasional projects in other areas of the OVPUE. Candidates should have a solid grasp on storytelling through content and have demonstrated experience creating engaging content in one or more of the following areas:
·      Graphic Design
·      Writing: News articles, press releases, website copy
·      Photography and Videography, editing
 
Students from all majors who meet the position requirements are encouraged to apply. Position may be of specific interest to students in journalism, communications, media or related fields. Please list any relevant coursework and provide a work sample.

Responsibilities:
·      Update CLASS website as needed
·      Create compelling narratives on behalf of CLASS through video storytelling from collecting raw footage to editing final videos.
·      Write feature news stories, press releases, and web content
·      Interview faculty fellows as needed
·      Use Creative Suite software to edit photos and videos, create infographics, design print and web materials
·      Attend events and capture photos
·      Must follow all appropriate university guidelines and uphold a positive reputation for the department and the university

Requirements:

·      Excellent writing, editing (photo/video/text), presentation, and communication skills
·      Strong storytelling skills with a diverse portfolio of design and/or photography and videography
·      Demonstrated experience with DSLR or mirrorless cameras and an understanding of lighting/exposure, focus, composition
·      Proven experience with digital technology and editing software
·      Must be willing to learn new software and systems as needed
·      Effective time management, working under pressure to meet deadlines, and a collaborative mindset are essential
·      Flexible schedule to attend night and weekend events as needed
·      Positive attitude, organized, creative mind, detail and customer oriented
