STD Prevention Program Specialist

The STD Specialist is responsible for the management, supervision, direction, and training of state-employed and contracted direct reports. DIS Specialists provide oversight and support to regional agencies which host DIS. This agency and DIS oversight include but is not limited to the following: review of DIS case investigations for quality and completeness; provide technical assistance to DIS as needed; assist with managing district priorities and caseload; train and assist with training DIS: when necessary develop and implement Work Improvement Plan for DIS or other assigned staff. This position conducts site audits on a rotating basis to ensure STD funded agencies fulfil grantee requirements. Additionally, the DIS Specialist is responsible for the coordination and oversight of special program projects and other duties as assigned. DIS Specialists also implement operational and surveillance protocols for statewide Sexually Transmitted Disease (STD). Specialists contribute to program development as well as standardization of internal and external policies and procedures. This oversight includes but is not limited to the following: review of DIS case investigations for quality and completeness; provide technical assistance to DIS as needed; assist with managing district priorities and caseload; train and assist with training DIS: when necessary develop and implement Work Improvement Plan for DIS or other assigned staff. This position is one of many DIS Specialist positions at IDOH.
