General Summary:
The Buyer manages all processes supporting the procurement of Metallic Aircraft components and assemblies. Assignments will include tactical procurement, strategic sourcing, commercial negotiations, and traditional project management activities.
 

Duties and Responsibilities:
1.   Prepares and issues RFI/RFP/RFQs (RFx), manages interactions between potential suppliers and internal cross-functional team members, and organizes all incoming/outgoing RFx communications and data.
2.   Evaluates RFx data to establish best value supplier positions.
3.   Organizes and presents sourcing options with source recommendations for cross-functional management review, feedback, and source selection.
4.   Negotiates contracts including price, milestone event schedules, date(s) of delivery, and other contractual and licensing provisions with suppliers.
5.   Serves as the primary Honda Aircraft commercial liaison between supply base and internal cross-functional stakeholders.
6.   Coordinates, facilitates, and should be prepared to lead, internal and external cross- functional stakeholders in the development, communication, and execution of project plans for complex sourcing/re-sourcing initiatives.
7.   Reviews purchase requisitions for accuracy and issues supporting purchase orders.
8.   Communicates purchased supply requirements, purchase order changes, purchase order prioritization, and manages supplier execution in alignment with these requirements.
9.   Identifies, evaluates, and resolves technical, manufacturing, or delivery risks and issues through cross-functional collaboration with internal and external stakeholders.
10. Resolves incoming documentation and invoicing discrepancies.
11. Manages the return, correction, and re-delivery or replacement of nonconforming product.
12. Develops and leverages strong intercompany relationships to manage all aspects of supplier performance to meet or exceed established KPI objectives.
13. Ensures compliance with procurement guidelines, company policies, and strategic company objectives.
14. Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local laws, including regulations from the Uniform Commercial Code, FAA, ITAR, Truth in Negotiations Act, False Claims Act, insurance policies, and intellectual property rights.
 

Education, Work Experience, Certification and/or License:
1.   Bachelor's degree from four-year accredited university required. Degree in Supply Chain Management, Engineering, or Business Administration preferred.
2.   Global procurement experience including managing complex project-based assignments highly preferred.
3.   Previous experience developing, negotiating, and managing contracts.
4.   Experience engaging with and understanding the technical aspects of product design and manufacturing processes highly preferred.
5.   Previous experience in a directly related procurement, purchasing, supply chain, or project management role within aviation/aerospace manufacturing industry preferred but not required.
6.   Supply Chain and/or Project Management certification preferred.
7.   Multi-lingual capabilities in Spanish, Japanese, Chinese, French, or German preferred.
 

Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
1.   Strong commercial experience, including negotiating, reviewing, constructing, and developing long term agreements for a global Supply Chain.
2.   Excellent writing ability with prior experience in drafting contractual provisions.
3.   Self-motivated nature, able to work effectively without close supervision.
4.   Working knowledge of Microsoft Office products. Proficiency in SAP and Teamcenter a plus.
5.   Strong leadership skills.
6.   Excellent customer service skills and the ability to communicate with all levels of internal customers.
7.   Strong interpersonal skills for building relationships with suppliers and all levels of company personnel.
8.   Demonstrate strong organizational skills
9.   Ability to apply sound business judgment and strategic guidance to management in a fast- paced, deadline oriented environment.
10. Ability to work independently with minimum supervision and simultaneously manage multiple projects.
11. Ability to clearly and concisely present data.
 


Physical Requirements:

1.   Incumbents may be routinely exposed to equipment operational noise, heat-cold-dust, and/or aircraft equipment, parts, or fuel odors.
2.   Incumbents may be required to stand, sit, squat, walk, bend, move, reach, or stretch for prolonged time periods with no restrictions, as required by job duties.
3.   Ability to work in a safe and professional manner while adhering to all regulatory requirements (FAA, OSHA, DOT, EPA, State and Federal regulations, etc.).
4.   Ability to read, hear, speak, and see with no restrictions, as required by job duties.
5.   Ability to comprehend and adhere to management directions and/or safety instructions with no restrictions.
6.   Ability to effectively communicate in Business English language.
7.   Ability to pull, push, carry, lift, or move items up to 10 lbs. throughout the work shift without assistance, as required by job duties.
