Sensor Technology Intern

Our Intern program will give you a chance to get real world business and laboratory experience and build your network before graduation. In our team, we impact early-to-mid range R&D projects focused on the chip and sensor technology powering the Ion Torrent Next Generation Sequencing. In this position, you will obtain hands-on experience working in a multi-disciplinary team and help develop exciting and novel technologies. We are looking for a curious and ready-to-learn candidate to join the team.

What are the exciting things will you be working on?
  • Develop surface chemistries and sample prep workflows to improve ion-sensitive field effect transistor (ISFET) sensor technologies for DNA sequencing technology.
  • Crafting and executing experiments for hypothesis testing

Required Education/Experience:
  • Full-time student in chemistry, materials science, or similar field
  • Hands-on laboratory experience in a chemistry or bio-chemistry lab setting
  • Ability to work independently and as a member of a multi-functional team

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities
  • Strong problem-solving, experimental, and data analysis skills
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to present experimental design and results to others in a clear, concise, and accurate way
  • Experience with surface functionalization chemistries is desired
  • Basic knowledge of Python, Jupyter, Pandas, and NumPy is a plus
  • Familiarity with statistical methods for data analysis would also be beneficial
