
Attendance Administrative Assistant
Marinette School District is seeking an energetic, organized and self-motivated individual to join our High School team as the Attendance Administrative Assistant. Position is responsible for providing clerical support to ensure the smooth, efficient operation of the High School Attendance Office.
Full-time, 10-month position. Normal office hours are 7:15am - 3:45pm, Monday through Friday.
Responsibilities Include:
- Coordinates the operations of the attendance office.
- Oversees the collection of absence information and the data entry of absences, admits students and issues passports.
- Receives calls from parents and ensures authenticity of notes and signatures.
- Maintains student attendance and disciplinary files.
- Prepares all necessary reports including monthly attendance reports to the Principal, Quarterly reports, Third Friday September and Second Friday January count and D.P.I. reports.
- Maintains detention book, advanced assignments and make-up work when necessary.
- Generates attendance, truancy, PAL and all other necessary letters pertaining to attendance.
- Operates and maintains the Phone Messenger system.
- Supports and assists nurses' office with first aid treatment and medication distribution as necessary.
- Manages and oversees student office assistants responsibilities and grades.
- Supports Activity Director by organizing game workers/game worker pay, managing sports rosters, and designing and printing programs for home athletic events.
Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or GED required; Associates or Bachelors degree preferred
- Minimum of 3 years experience in an office/administrative setting or role preferred
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to maintain a professional, polite and friendly demeanor with all students, staff and stakeholders
- Ability to work independently and also be a team player
- Possess the ability to maintain confidentiality of all information concerning students, staff and parent/guardian
- Possess knowledge and demonstrated performance in computer skills, typing, office organization, and record keeping
- Active listening and ability to interpret and respond to student or adult needs
