Landscape Designer I

Perkins and Will Miami Studio seeking Landscape Designer I with a background in landscape architecture or architecture to join our Landscape Architecture team.
Perkins&Will Miami Studio is seeking applications to join its dynamic Landscape Architecture practice. Established over 20 years ago in Miami, our integrated studio is comprised of almost 50 professionals including Architects, Landscape Architects, and Interior Designers. Centrally located in downtown Coral Gables, the award-winning studio space is designed to maximize interaction, collaborative thinking, and cross-pollination among allied disciplines. Current projects include university and corporate campuses, a recently awarded high-profile waterfront park, and various urban projects in South Florida and across the country.

As Landscape Designer I on our team you will:
  • Provide assistance throughout the design process under routine guidance; contribute to the overall success of the team by adhering to firm and project goals and standards of excellence in landscape design, execution, and living design. 
  • Assist in preparation of drawings for schematic design, design development, and construction documents.
  • Assist in developing design sketches, renderings, models, and graphics for presentation materials.
  • Provide design support to project team members, which may include computer modeling, model building, and renderings.
  • Compile data and perform design computations.
  • Use a creative approach to perform tasks and responsibilities on projects in an organized, timely, and consistent way. 
  • Self-check work for accuracy, omissions, legibility, and compile data for document compliance in accordance with the Project Delivery Manual. 
  • Proactively ask questions and express curiosity about the world of design and the industry at large.
  • Provide support to tasks within project teams (may focus on individual detailed tasks) and studio activities.
  • Participate in design reviews, charrettes, and pin-ups.
  • Keeps open communication within team and with designated team leader. 
  • Communicate ideas and thoughts in a way that inspires others.
  • Assist with coordination among partners and consultants. 

Qualifications:
Ideal candidates will hold degrees in landscape architecture and/or architecture with 1 to 3 years of professional experience. However, recent graduates that demonstrate exemplary work and potential may also be considered. Applicants should be collaborative, communicative, and share our commitment to designing and building the highest quality integrated design work. Perkins&Will, like a growing number of leading design offices works exclusively in Revit. Prior experience in Revit is a strong plus, but not a requirement. Additional skills should include Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, Excel, Lumion and Rhino.
