Spring 2022 K-12 Education Internship

Company: Fort Wayne Museum of Art -

The Children's Education Internship provides an overview of the children's education department, which is responsible for one of the first formal introductions to visual art a child has. This department educates students K-12. All ages of children are served through on- and off-site museum programming. Interns will be a major part of implementation of these programs and will learn to interact with students of all ages. Interns will assist in exploring the varied methods of art interpretation that we use to educate this often-underserved audience. This will be done through gallery tours, traveling exhibition presentations in the classroom, and the largest exhibition for art students in the region, the Scholastic Art and Writing Awards. This intern will build a foundation for visual arts education beyond the traditional classroom setting.

Qualifications:

Students need to be at least sophomores with a 3.0 GPA, and who are preferrably studying education, art education, or the arts.
