Air Resources Engineer (MAND) Technical Regulatory Development and Implementation Support

The Freight Systems Section is responsible for promoting and protecting public health, welfare and ecological resources through effective and efficient reduction of criteria and toxic air pollutants and greenhouse gases from freight operations, while recognizing and considering the effects on the economy of the State. Key activities of the section include developing and implementing regulations and strategies for adoption by the California Air Resources Board (CARB), conducting technical evaluation of emission-control technologies, stakeholder outreach, and duties that support these activities.
The Freight Transport Branch (Branch) within CARB’s Transportation and Toxics Division has an immediate opportunity for a dynamic Air Resources Engineer (ARE) to help develop and support critical advanced freight equipment innovation programs, including the development of new regulations that will accelerate the use of cleaner freight equipment and new advanced freight regulations reporting system(s).
