Title: Project Management Intern
Department: Operations
Reporting to the Manager, Project Strategy, the Project Management Intern will actively assist in managing the life cycle of projects, capture and communicate status of projects throughout the National Pork Board, communicate project updates to appropriate stakeholders, and ensure the project management process is operating in FinancialForce. During this internship, the Project Management Intern will have the opportunity to demonstrate leadership and soft skills while collaborating across the National Pork Board with other staff members.
Role Responsibility:
- Develop project management skillset across the National Pork Board
- Mange projects to ensure initative is within scope, time, and cost
- Develop reports through FinancialForce that summaries project updates on a monthly basis
- Work alongside subject matter experts to ensure all project team members are actively working on action items
- Create best practices documents to help facilitate project management skills across the organization
- Assist with day-to-day project work
Criteria for applying:
- Educational background in business management, or related fields
o Preferred educational experience: Junior, Senior or graduate student
- Strong communication skills
- Ability to maintain interactions
- Ability to learn fast in an agile environment
- Strong organizational skills and ability to work on multiple projects
- Location: Des Moines Metro Area
Duration of internship: 6-8 months
- Preferred timeline: January 2022 – August 2022
- Hours: 15 – 20 hrs./week
o Opportunity to start part-time and go into full-time (40 hrs./week) over summer months
