We are seeking a recent or upcoming graduate to fill our staff accountant role. Our staff accounting position is an excellent opportunity to gain hands-on, entry-level experience in financial accounting and income tax. This candidate must be outgoing, have a positive attitude, take initiative and be extremely reliable and flexible.
 
Our staff accountants are given a wide variety of accounting and tax assignments under the supervision of our team of professionals. Accountants will work with and assist senior staff with recording transactions, various reconciliations and basic financial statement preparation, as well as on-site client visits. Additionally, they will assist with preparation of payroll tax, sales tax and other income tax returns and assist with various other projects.
 
The candidate should possess excellent written and verbal communication skills and must be exceedingly well organized and detail orientated. The Candidate should also have strong data entry skills with a high degree of accuracy. Our ideal candidate is someone looking for a career in a small practice working on small business clients and plans on residing in the Baton Rouge area long term.
 
The candidate will be working with various clients and must be able to work independently as well as in a team environment with little or no supervision and capable of multitasking in a fast-paced environment.

Requirements:
·      Pursuing Bachelors or Master’s degree in Accounting, CPA Track, and completed Into to Financial Accounting
·      Excellent academic credentials
·      Able to work an average of 20-40 hours per week with some remote work options
·      If you're graduating in May 2023, you may work 20 hours per week but upon graduation transition to full time
·      Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Office products: Word and Excel
·      Excellent interpersonal, oral and written communication skills
Must live in the greater baton rouge area
 
Prior accounting experience and knowledge of QuickBooks are a plus but not required.
