Growing Places Indy (GPI) is seeking an Events & Marketing Intern. This position will help support our signature events, including the Indy Night Market. This position reports to the Executive Director and works collaboratively with staff from other departments and community partners to provide active learning and networking opportunities. Moderate travel outside of the office setting is necessary and required for this position. Reliable transportation is required.
Qualifications:
- Must be enrolled currently in an accredited college or university AND have completed at least two years (2) years of college-level education credits
- Must have a flexible schedule and be prepared to work weekends, early mornings, or late nights Must be able to work outside, rain or shine
- Demonstrate people and management skills
- Demonstrate creativity - including internal and external marketing and project materials creation Demonstrate ability to thrive in a challenging and fun environment with many unknowns and changing objectives
- Detail-oriented
- Demonstrate project management skills to develop and execute multiple projects simultaneously to meet overlapping deadlines
- Demonstrate above-average organizational/problem-solving/decision-making skills
- Demonstrate strong verbal and written communication and presentation skills
- Demonstrate ability to proactively identify issues/develop solutions/implement resolutions
- Demonstrate creative and strategic thinking
- Must have the passion of a self-starter and quick learner
- Experience working with outside marketing and media agencies
- Demonstrate ability to work independently as much as necessary - even without guidance from staff at times
