Easterseals Wisconsin Camps- AmeriCorps Respite Apprentice (Increased Living Allowance)

Do you want to make a difference in the lives of people with disabilities? Would you like to spend your summer outdoors? Easterseals Wisconsin Camps may be the perfect place to spend your summer!

Easterseals Wisconsin is a non-profit organization providing programs for children, youth and adults with disabilities.

Easterseals Wisconsin operates two camp programs that serve campers and families from every region of Wisconsin. Both of our camps serve campers who may have physical disabilities, as well as cognitive delays and autism spectrum disorders. Camp Wawbeek serves campers who can function in a small group of peers, while Respite Camp serves campers who may require more individualized attention and care. Both camps offer respite for families, and provide campers with fully accessible outdoor opportunities in an inclusive environment.

Throughout their stay, campers can participate in a wide range of activities, and our staff are there to help make it all happen! Typical camp activities- arts and crafts, sports and games, drama, music, boating, canoeing, archery, climbing wall, zip line, swimming, camp out, cook out, camp fires and camp songs, talent shows, dances and so much more. These activities build self-confidence, promote independence, promote physical activity and provide an environment to build connections with peers while enjoying nature.

Previous experience working with people with disabilities is always helpful, but not required. Potential candidates should be enthusiastic, energetic and able to work long days, adaptable to changing situations and be able to work with a team.
