Student Engagement Intern (Paid)

JOB DESCRIPTION SUMMARY:
The Student Engagement Intern for Marketing will perform a wide array of tasks necessary to support the student fan experience and integration for multiple sports in a highly collaborative environment. In the office, interns will assist full-time staff with planning marketing and communications efforts to our University of Texas Student Body. On-campus, interns will actively promote Texas Athletics home events. At sporting events, interns will execute the setup and implementation of student promotional activities. This position may be required to work non-traditional hours, including early mornings, evenings, weekends and holidays. This position may be held for a maximum of 2 years.

RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Coordinate the planning and implementation of marketing and promotional campaigns for The University of Texas Student Body and execute promotional efforts on-campus and at events.
  • Coordinate campus outreach and messaging to students. Set-up and breakdown marketing tables during on-campus promotional events. Communicate student promotions within the residence halls, Greek system, and student body.
  • Creation of marketing strategies to increase overall brand awareness to students and increase attendance at home events
  • Work with the ticket sales staff to maximize student Big Ticket sales
  • Additional duties as assigned

Report knowledge of, or reasonable cause to believe, violation(s) of state or federal laws, policies, rules, or regulations of the University, Big 12 Conference, or NCAA to IA ARMCS or IA HR. Fully cooperate with any investigation by providing complete and accurate information when requested to do so by Texas Athletics and/or the NCAA and do not influence others in any way during an investigation. As an employee of the university, if you witness or receive information about sexual harassment, sexual assault, dating violence or stalking that involves a current student or employee, you have a duty to promptly report the incident to the University’s Title IX Coordinator or a Deputy Title IX Coordinator. JOB LOCATION:
The University of Texas at Austin, North End Zone (NEZ)

POSITION DETAILS:
  • Part-time
  • $10.00 per hour
  • Hours per week varies, up to 29 hrs

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Demonstrate strong interest in Intercollegiate Athletics, Marketing and/or Special Events
  • Strong communication skills
  • Some heavy lifting involved
  • Must be authorized to work in the U.S.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Sport Management or Business/Communication-related major
  • Previous athletics or business internship/work experience

WORK SHIFT:
  • Candidate selected must be able to work non-traditional hours including evenings, weekends and holidays
  • Flexible Scheduling: Exact schedule is determined on a monthly basis
  • Standard office hours Monday – Friday at times between 9AM-5PM

WORKING CONDITIONS:
  • Repetitive use of a keyboard at a workstation
  • Use of manual dexterity
  • Some heavy lifting may be required
