Description:
Ohio Innovation Fund is actively recruiting for the 2022 Venture Internship position. This position is a 10-week, paid experience working in venture capital. The primary responsibilities of this position will be to assist OIF in new investment evaluation and portfolio company support. Specific areas of focus will vary during the summer and may include:
- Creating initial due diligence packages on potential investments (including: Solution/Product, Team, Financials, Customers, Strategic Partners, Competition, and more)
- Updating the OIF Pipeline of potential investments
- Assisting on portfolio company projects (fundraising communications, market research, development of market strategies, evaluation of competitors, acquisition landscape assessment, and more)
- Executing other operational projects as needed
The most successful candidates are typically those with a deep curiosity about startup formation, scaling, and culture, and who are excited to learn how to evaluate startups for investment (particularly in OIF’s core areas of investment -- Tech and MedTech). Some candidates are interested in sitting on the investment side, while others are interested in forming their own companies. Most often, successful candidates have a demonstrated interest in the startup ecosystem as evidenced by involvement in clubs or activities focused on entrepreneurship or investing, and/or have founded their own startups or extracurricular organizations.
