Graphic Designer
The Gig:
We’re seeking an epic Graphic Designer to join us on our journey to create the world’s most irresistible travel brand. You live in a world of colors and shapes and will be passionate about helping us make sure we look our very best in every place that we appear. Your forward-thinking perspective on aesthetics will help elevate the ordinary to make it extraordinary. Your skill set includes overall design, illustration, UI and editorial work.
Someone would describe you as a highly organized team player who eats, breathes, and sleeps content creation. You’re eager to learn all that you can but can also bring ideas to the table and can work independently to get things done. You’re also not afraid to be a bit scrappy (we’re a startup after all).
Your day to day is never boring as you work both with internal crew members and agency partners on things you are creating and producing. You will be focused on brilliant materials for our travel partners. From travel magazine cover wraps to event materials, from display ads to digital sales brochures, from content creation to printed pieces. Everything you touch makes us look ‘hot’. You are familiar with selling an idea in and also how to show your creative process either via mood boards or concepts. You’re not precious and you love to get feedback to make your work even better. In the end, we won’t know how we got by without you.
What You'll Be Up To:
- Hands on involvement with overall graphic design projects, both internal and external with creative and design agencies
- Experience in designing a wide range of b2b pieces including brochures, print ads, flyers
- display banners, event materials
- Production of key collateral and branded items
- Presentations for Virgin Voyages reflecting the essence of our image
- Coordinate other design project elements including mood boards & conceptual mocks
- Contribute input and champion consistency to the brand visual identity and usage
- Collaborate with the other designers, motion graphics, copywriters in the content studio to produce great work
- Partner with your copywriter counterpart to create beautiful, cohesive work
- Work closely with the business to execute on their vision and strategy
- Inspire us with great design & illustration work and excite us with elevating our brand
- Stay on top of new software and be on the latest stuff
- Act as an ambassador of the Virgin culture
- Other duties as assigned.
Superpowers Required:
- Minimum of 5 years relevant job experience required
- Must be an expert at Adobe Creative Suite, Google Suite, Sketch, Invision, Zeplin, and MS Office -- (InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop, Acrobat, Google Slides, PowerPoint, and Keynote)
- Illustration skills a plus.
- Strong visual sense and aesthetic focus, with an understanding of general design principles
- A well-rounded portfolio that showcases an on-brand aesthetic that lends well to a range of audiences
- Ability to work at speed in a fast turnaround environment, without sacrificing quality of content
- Excellent time management
- Ability to be flexible, this is a startup -- we need to be scrappy sometimes!
