Human Resources Intern (Year-Round)

Charter Steel in Cleveland, OH is hiring an HR Intern to join their growing team!


Duration/Schedule: Flexible part-time during the school year and full-time during the summer months.

Targeted Start Date: Fall 2021

WHAT YOU WILL DO:

  • Support New Hire Orientation
  • Champion hourly interview scheduling
  • Leverage Workday for research and benchmarking reports
  • Develop content and calendars for our internal Toolbox Talks (company newsletter)
  • Continuous Improvement project work
  • Coordinate employee events
  • Provide ad hoc administrative support

POSITION PURPOSE/MISSION:
Join our growing Human Resources team and gain exposure to work performed by our HR Business Partners by supporting a variety of projects and tasks. Collaborate directly with other employees and work on projects independently. Grow through Charter’s Internship values of communication, high expectations, accountability, responsibility, teamwork, exposure to business, and real-world work experience.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Enrollment in a four-year degree program in Human Resources or a related field with current status of at least a Sophomore level
  • Cumulative GPA of 2.75 or higher
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office software: Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Excellent customer service skills to assist employees with questions
  • Strong interpersonal and relationship building skills
  • Planning and organizational skills
  • Time management skills
  • Attention to detail
  • Ability to succeed in a team environment
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks
