Early Career Program-Marketing/Business

Our Opening and Your Responsibilities

The Early Career Program – Marketing/Business is a 24+ month rotational program that introduces recent college graduates with majors in Marketing or other business-related field to METTLER TOLEDO. This structured program gives participants experience in several different business areas and functions such as Marketing, Product Management, US & Global Service and Customer Operations, with potential exposure to Marketing Communications, Finance, HR, Quality and IT.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Marketing:
  • Assist in leading marketing and customer support teams to address external and internal customers on commercial, industry, service and product related issues. 
  • Involvement with planning and executing the necessary marketing communication activities required to support business area strategies.
  • Provide marketing support for key account strategies. 
  • Define, plan and execute marketing plans targeted for segments. 
  • Attends major trade shows; directly involved with the planning and logistics of the trade shows. 
  • Conduct market/industry research and analysis to identify market/industry trends, potential and forecasting. 
  • Recommend new channels/programs as required to grow market penetration. 
  • Evaluate research regarding new market trends and market reaction to promotional activities. 

 Sales: 
  • Review and analyze the competitors in our marketplace and their effectiveness in all sales channels. 
  • Explore new applications and industries for our products. 
  • Communicate with PO marketing representatives regarding MT-NA needs for new products, support for agency approvals, special applications and product adaptations (EPA, FDA, USP, USDA, etc.) as needed. 
  • Participate in the presentation of the product line to customers. 
  • Assist with penetration of new accounts and maintain key accounts to increase market share. 
  • Participate in additional marketing/sales support activities as required within the department. 
  • Monitor and report market/sales performance (units and revenue) of the responsible products based on our tactical and strategic marketing and business plans. 

 Service: 
  • Assist in the development of plans to promote services programs and promotions. 
  • Participate in service business leadership team meetings. Contribute to development of a comprehensive knowledge of existing and potential customer base. 
  • Review and ensure proper account management for field service technicians. 
  • Plan and assist in development of local strategies to yield desired growth of contract-based service revenues. 
  • All other duties as assigned.

What You Need to Succeed
Education & Experience:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Marketing, Communications or other business-related field is required; students who are in their final year of undergraduate studies are the target candidate pool. 
  • Grade point average of 3.30 or higher. 
  • Proven experience in a leadership role within a student-led organization. 
  • Previous and/or current involvement in community service or other volunteer organizations. 
  • Proficient-to-advanced M/S Office skills including Excel, Word, Outlook and PowerPoint. 
  • Excellent follow-through, ability to meet deadlines, decision-making and multi-tasking skills, and excellent communication skills. 
  • SAP experience is a plus.
