Printing Services Assistant

Myers, located in Folk Hall on East Exchange Street, is a fun and beautiful place to work. As a Printing Services Assistant, you'll be surrounded by art, artists, and creatives of all types. Student assistants are vital and valued members of the school and help keep it running smoothly.

Never worked in printing services before? Don't worry--we'll train you! Here, you'll learn valuable skills that will benefit you in both your academic and professional careers.






Responsibilities:

  • Assist staff and faculty with daily operations.
  • General print lab duties (filing, copying, scanning documents; greeting and assisting students and visitors; taking messages; light cleaning).
  • Assistant students and faculty with their printing and technology needs.
  • Take payment via ZipCard for all transactions in the lab.






Qualifications:

  • Detail-oriented and willing to learn
  • Pleasant and effective communication skills
  • Self-motivated, reliable, and punctual
  • Ability to manage multiple responsibilities
  • Comfort with asking questions
  • Professional demeanor
  • General computer skills
  • Some knowledge or experience with Apple computers and Adobe Creative Cloud preferred, but not necessary
  • Must have Federal Work Study award






Salary Range:

  • Depends on amount of work study award. Since work study students are drawing from a limited pool of money for their salary, we'll adjust your pay rate according to the number of hours per week you're scheduled in order to get you the maximum amount of your award possible. Salary will always be higher than minimum wage.

All University of Akron student employees must meet the designated minimum standards as stated on the Student Employment Eligibility Chart. UA student employees must be 18 years or older at the time of their start date. Any approved remote work conducted by student employees MUST be performed within the state of Ohio.
