Operations Intern

Department Description: The Operations Department primarily oversees designing and implementing organization-wide infrastructure that enables more efficient department workflows, collaboration between departments, hiring processes, and ways to ensure organization’s short and long-term goals are being met. During the Festival, maintenance of organization-wide systems continues to be the Operations Department’s central focus, but in addition, provides general purpose problem-solving support for the rest of staff.
 
Job Description: The Operations Department is seeking interns to assist in establishing and maintaining systems to enable more efficient communication and record-keeping within and across AFF Departments, collecting and analyzing data to help improve organization efficiency, and implementing solutions that boost AFF staff and department productivity.
 
Job Responsibilities:
  • Assist in compiling data to help understand organization’s system pain-points and derive solutions
  • Help implement new department protocols related to Festival preparation and execution
  • Work directly with Operations Manager to determine project timelines, plan and execute various data-based projects, research new technological solutions to facilitate better organization workflow, and solve in-the-moment problems leading up to and during the Festival
  • Communicate regularly with Operations Manager and all AFF departments related to Operations-based projects
  • Assist with IT preparation and maintenance
