An ideal candidate for this role will have a passion for DE&I and is an effective communicator who can engage in collaborative and productive partnerships with colleagues at all levels and locations across the company. The candidate will also be an independent, reliable, and tenacious self-starter who can exercise sound judgment, prioritize assignments, and deliver results against set deadlines.
 
Serving in this internship, you will have the opportunity to:
  • Become familiarized with and utilize the DE&I Strategic Plan in all assigned tasks and projects
  • Develop a deeper knowledge of and conviction in DE&I best practices in the workplace
  • Strengthen communication, presentation, and support of meeting/focus group facilitation
  • Further master project and content management
  • Collaborate cross-functionally 

Job Responsibilities & Activities:
  • Conduct research, create reports on program efforts, conceptualize new ideas, and support the team with other DE&I projects as needed
  • Support the DE&I team in providing effective ideas and programming that builds a diverse and inclusive workforce
  • Contribute to strategy development and implementation of the DE&I Strategic Plan
  • Support project management and coordination of the DEI Strategic Plan and related projects
  • Attend and participate in all project team and sub-committee team meetings of the DEI Strategic Bet
  • Research and brief on DE&I topics and their correlation with hospitality products and services, aiming to identify gaps in access and service to communities we reach
  • Coordinate and support of DEI-focused, community-based events and initiatives
  • Attend internal and external meetings as requested to gain insight and provide details pertinent to Chick-fil-A’s DEI efforts
  • Work on special, related projects as needed
  • Stay abreast of best practices on DEI, recommend relevant initiatives for Chick-fil-A activities and actions
  • Support logistics for company-wide DE&I meetings and events
  • Draft, schedule, and poste DE&I communications across internal channels
  • Participate in weekly DE&I working group meetings and provide administrative support to the working group
  • Create PowerPoint slide decks for DE&I presentations and support preparation for DE&I Strategy Team and Advisory Council meetings

Minimum Qualifications:
  • Pursuing a bachelor’s degree related to DEI, Organizational Psychology, Human Resources Management, Business Administration, Communications, Cultural Studies, Social Sciences or other business field. Must be returning to undergraduate study Fall 2022.

  • Experience with Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • An ability to synthesize large amounts of information from multiple sources and to translate learning into the identification of key trends

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Prior experience working in DEI and/or currently pursuing a DEI certification
  • Solid business understanding and experience working in a professional setting
  • Hospitality or Chick-fil-A Restaurant Experience
  • Knowledge, awareness and interest in issues of culture, diversity, equity, and inclusion
  • Experience or an educational focus in DE&I issues
  • Have experience or a demonstrated educational focus in qualitative and quantitative research methods
  • Demonstrated ability to provide effective coaching and feedback on topics related to inclusion
  • Track record of working with historically marginalized groups
  • Strong personal practice for growing your knowledge of equity & inclusion and an effective self-care/restoration strategy

Education:
Currently pursuing bachelor’s degree related to DEI, Organizational Psychology, Human Resources Management, Business Administration, Communications, Cultural Studies, Social Sciences or other business field

Minimum GPA : 3.0
