Web Developer Internship
Provide web development and design support to the Center for Health Communication. This position will assist the Web Developer to design, develop, maintain, and enhance the Center for Health Communication’s web presence.
Responsibilities
● Design and build online products including websites, applications, and responsive designs.
● Collaborate with project managers and designers to understand project needs. Provide feedback on wireframes and prototypes to create a final product that fits within the constraints of the development environment.
● Comply with policies on accessibility and security, as dictated by the current project/client.
● Ensures front-end design, functionality, and content structure facilitate user experience for all users including assistive technology users.
● Assist the web development team with website migration and redesign.
● Ensure compliance with established guidelines for usage of UT Austin, Moody College of Communication, Dell Medical School, and Center for Health Communication’s brand identities.
● Assist with maintenance, analytics, and compliance for properties under CHC purview.
● Support CHC’s mission to lead the creation of evidence-based health communication scholarship, education, and community involvement.
Required Qualifications
● Working towards a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree
● Proficient in HTML and CSS
● Detail-oriented
● Ability to make independent judgments
● Effective analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills
● Ability to establish priorities, balance projects, and meet deadlines
● Aptitude with Google Analytics and Drupal 9
Preferred Qualifications
● Familiar with JavaScript, PHP, and Pantheon
Working Conditions
● May work around standard office conditions
● Primarily remote work during 2021-2022 school year
● Repetitive use of a keyboard at a workstation
