Equipment QC Technician
Overview
The Equipment QC Technician is an entry level non-exempt position that reports to the EQC Management. The Equipment QC Technician is responsible for calibration of selected equipment and assisting the EQC department.
Essential Functions
• Independently perform the calibration process for all models of luminometers
• Evaluate results using automated Microsoft Excel SOP forms
• Identify and provide feedback on issues with luminometers and participate in troubleshooting with management as needed
• Work independently or as part of a team aiding in the calibration of equipment. This will include providing support on preliminary tasks to prepare the equipment for further calibration.
• Assist Lead Equipment QC Analyst in maintaining essential lab inventory
• Catalogue and stock equipment provided by Electronics on a weekly basis

Accountabilities
• The EQC Management will provide a schedule on a daily/weekly basis. The scheduled assigned tasks need to be accurately completed by the due date.
• Inspect/Detect discrepancies in the calibration of equipment as outlined in CSI standard operating procedures
• Inspect/Detect physical and functional discrepancies in equipment
• Accurately document and submit all calibrations in a timely manner for review
• Complete all customer equipment orders in a timely manner
• Communicate with co-workers clearly to meet quality control standards outlined in CSI standard operating procedures
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
Required:
• Biotechnology Certificate or Associate degree in life sciences related field or 3+ years hands-on laboratory experience and strong basic scientific knowledge
• Excellent verbal and written communication
• Excellent attention to detail
• Understanding of basic statistics
• Familiarity with Microsoft Word and Excel
• Must be available to work 8:30am to 5:30pm Monday through Friday with some flexibility
Preferred:
• Experience in a GMP/GLP environment
• Experience with sterile/aseptic technique
• Familiarity with Microsoft Outlook
Physical Requirements
• The person in this position must be able to lift up to 25 pounds periodically.
• The person in this position must be able to remain stationary for an extended length of time.
• The person in this position frequently operates handheld diagnostic devices, a computer, and other office equipment such as a printer.
• The person in this position must possess dexterity in order to perform pipetting assays to analyze tests in equipment.
• Able to work 10 to 15 minutes in a cold room environment (4°C)
