Budget Analyst

The Osborne Association is looking for a dynamic individual to join our Grants Management team in our Bronx location. The budget analyst provides financial and programmatic performance information to management by researching & analyzing data and preparing reports. The Budget Analyst maintains journals, ledgers, financial statements, budgets, program statistics, reports and contracts and is under the general supervision of the Budget Director.

The position is split between 10% in office work and 90% remote work temporarily and is subject to change with or without notice.


Responsibilities
  • Allocate funding sources in the HRIS system
  • Monitoring the budget status, providing monthly budget vs. actual reports to the Program Directors
  • Meeting periodically with Program Directors to measure progress and address over or under spending
  • Working with the Program Analysts and ensuring accurate tracking of performance data and timely performance reporting to funders
  • Working with management to secure financing for the organization by assisting in the preparation and review of Requests for Proposals and grant applications; develops budgetary recommendations
  • Participating in interdepartmental meetings to provide financial and budget data
  • Ensuring that financial reports and vouchers are accurately prepared and submitted on a timely basis
  • Ensuring that the Osborne Association complies with all fiscal regulatory and legal requirements
  • Performing other duties as required

Requirements

Education
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or Economics

Experience
A minimum of two years of experience in the not for profit sector analyzing financial data and preparing vouchers

Additional Skills
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Ability to manage time and resources in a fast-paced environment with many deadlines
  • Strong Microsoft Office and knowledge of database
  • Grant Accounting a plus
