Intern, Texas Athletics Human Resources
JOB DESCRIPTION SUMMARY: This position will provide experience directly related to the Human Resources field/industry with hands on training and facilitation guided by the full-time staff in the Texas Athletics Human Resources office. The Intern will assist in the day-to-day operations of the Human Resources office.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Assist with the design, planning and execution of professional development, diversity & inclusion, leadership and mentorship programs and initiatives for Texas Athletics employees.
- Assist with developing and creating an HR e-manual
- Special projects geared toward learning and experiencing Human Resources overall role in the organization (i.e. organizational culture, professional development, diversity and inclusion efforts, policy, process and procedure design and enhancement, employee recognition, etc.)
- Meet with new hires to complete the employee onboarding process
- Scan and upload employee records into the electronic filing system
- Work in various Human Resources Management systems to manage new and existing employee information
- Answer office phones and directing or answering questions appropriately and handling sensitive information with utmost confidentiality

Comply with all laws, policies, rules and regulations set forth by the Board of Regents of The University of Texas System, The University of Texas at Austin, NCAA, Big 12, or other governing body, including state and federal laws. Annually obtain prior written approval and report all outside activities and outside income. Report knowledge of, or reasonable cause to believe, violation(s) of state or federal laws, policies, rules, or regulations of the University, Big 12 Conference, or NCAA to IA ARMCS or IA HR. Fully cooperate with any investigation by providing complete and accurate information when requested to do so by Texas Athletics and/or the NCAA and do not influence others in any way during an investigation. As an employee of the university, if you witness or receive information about sexual harassment, sexual assault, dating violence or stalking that involves a current student or employee, you have a duty to promptly report the incident to the University’s Title IX Coordinator or a Deputy Title IX Coordinator. REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Must be a student registered for at least six credit hours
- Intermediate technical and computer skills
- Strong communication and customer service skills
- Ability to work well in a team environment
- Professional demeanor
PERFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Pursuing a degree in Business, Communications, Human Resources, Organizational Development or a related field.
- Interest in the field of Human Resources or Organizational Development

- Varies depending on class schedule
