Responsibilities
***THIS IS NOT A VIRTUAL POSITION, YOU MUST LIVE WITHIN OR BE WILLING TO RELOCATE WITHIN A COMMUTABLE DISTANCE OF THE DUTY LOCATION***
Duties include, but are not be limited to, the following:
- Respond to on-site accidents and other emergencies involving injury and illnesses.
- Determine and prioritize appropriate medical treatment/procedures.
- Perform patient triage and take/record patient's vital signs.
- Determine if and how the patient can be moved and to which medical facility the patient should be transported.
- Prioritize treatments or patients having multiple problems and employs a variety of advanced emergency medicine techniques, methods and equipment during transport.
- Administers basic and advanced life support care at emergency scene in accordance with established medical standards.
- Perform invasive and non-invasive procedures on patients with life threatening and non-life-threatening conditions per established procedures.
- Respond to cardiac and respiratory emergencies.
- Perform cardiac monitoring and defibrillation.
- Maintain circulation, control bleeding and provide spinal management and immobilization.
- Follow safety procedures, utilizes safety equipment and monitors work environment to ensure safety of employees and other individuals.
- Perform other related duties assigned.
Work Schedule: Rotating shifts, including holidays and are subject to occasional recall to maintain adequate coverage of the Emergency Department and ambulance service 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Mandatory overtime may be required due to run times that may extend beyond normal scheduled work.
