Part-time program assistant
The University of Washington hosts over 200 youth programs and activities serving over 250,000 youth under age 18 each year. The Office of the Youth Protection Coordinator is seeking a part-time program assistant to support our work with these programs and activities. The primary responsibility of this position is to support the functioning and use of the Youth Program Registration System (YPRS), a compliance tracking data system. Other tasks may be assigned as time and funding allow.
Duties
- Initiate and maintain contact with newly identified youth programs
- Send quarterly and annual registration reminders to youth programs and researchers
- Assist youth programs and staff/volunteers with registration processes, troubleshooting, and questions
- Review newly registered and upcoming programs for compliance with training, conduct, and background check requirements; conduct follow-up outreach as needed
- Extract and format data from YPRS for reporting purposes
- Identify and implement improvements to YPRS and the registration and compliance review processes
- Other duties, as time and interest allow, could include:
- Create, update, and disseminate educational materials to support registration and compliance
- Maintain clear documentation of processes and procedures in internal operations guide
Qualifications
- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills
- Well organized, thorough, and detail-oriented
- Experience with outreach and/or providing customer support
- Ability to analyze a process and suggest improvements
- Experience and comfort with using web-based software applications
- Proficiency with MS and Google document and spreadsheet applications
- (desired) Experience with and interest in program data tracking systems (e.g., online data system that tracks program outputs, inputs, etc.)

This position will be compensated at a rate of $18/hour and will work an average of 10 hours per week. The position will last 6 months, with the possibility of renewal, dependent on funding and need.
