Graduate Assistant, Internship Courses and Programs

Position Overview
The Internship Course and Program Graduate Assistant will assist in the overall management of internship and career experience courses and programs offered through Texas Career Engagement (TCE). Reporting to the Assistant Director of Internships and Career Experiences, this position will collaborate within TCE and campus to help develop programs, initiatives, events, and workshops focused on experiential learning and student professional development.
 
Job Responsibilities
  • Manage the online application and registration processes for EXP 000 and 080: Internship and Career Experience courses
  • Provide support in course facilitation and the development of curriculum, resources, and assessments; utilize Canvas LMS and Qualtrics
  • Assist in planning, implementing, and evaluating student professional development programs
  • Collaborate with team members to plan effective quantitative and qualitative data collection and assessment strategies
  • Assist in creating and maintaining experiential learning resources offered through faculty, student, and employer toolkits
  • Research best practices and trends related to internships, career experiences, professional development, and career readiness
  • Coordinate with team members to execute special projects and initiatives

Required Qualifications
  • Analytical and quantitative skills related to tracking and managing data
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills and technological proficiency
  • Ability to research and summarize findings
  • Interest in experiential learning, internships, and career education
  • Ability to work independently, meet deadlines and organize information in a way that can be communicated to university and employer stakeholders
  • Demonstrated initiative, follow-through skills, and punctuality
 
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience in developing programs or curriculum for undergraduate students
  • Knowledge of trends and best practices related to internship participation
  • Prior experience working in a university career services capacity

Position Open To: Applicants must be enrolled in at least 9 credit hours as a master’s or PhD student and in good academic standing. If currently on a GRA or TA’ship, must have advisor’s permission
Earliest Start Date: August 23, 2021
Position Duration: Fall 2021 – Summer 2022, continuation based on performance
Location: Hybrid of on-campus and remote work
Weekly Scheduled Hours: 10 hours per week
