Information Technology Programmer/Analyst 12

This position will provide senior level application development support for the Department of Health and Human Services supporting both Behavioral and Public Health applications developed in Java including but not limited to Electronic Test Ordering, Crime Victims, Electronic Death Register, Birth Registry, Maternal and Infant Health Program, and Omnibus Budget Reconciliation Act (OBRA).  This position is a member of a team of information technology professionals.  The team focus relies on strong players willing to contribute to each project while focusing on achieving the goals and mission of the agency.

 

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:

Required:

•Knowledge/Training in the analysis, design, programming, testing, implementing and supporting web based applications and/or client/server applications.

•Knowledge/Training with the object oriented design techniques and programming languages.

•Knowledge/Training in developing systems with relational databases.

•Knowledge/Training in Database Administration.

•Knowledge/Training of systems development methodology utilized in the development of new systems and enhancements.

•Knowledge/Training in analysis and requirements gathering.

•Knowledge/Training in development of test plans and components, and conducting unit, system and user acceptance testing.

•Ability to prepare detailed written instructions and documentation.

•Effective oral and writing skills.

•Time management skills.

 

Required Education and Experience

Education-

Possession of a bachelor's degree with 21 semester (32 term) credits in computer science, data processing, computer information, data communications, networking, systems analysis, computer programming, or mathematics.

Experience-

Three years of professional experience equivalent to an Information Technology Infrastructure or Programmer/Analyst P11.
