Entry Level simulation software Engineer
Develop and improve upon simulation software that models thermal-hydraulic fluid flow and heat transfer in support of the US Naval Nuclear Propulsion Program. Use state-of-the-art thermal-hydraulic codes and models to provide a realistic high fidelity simulation of the operation of a Naval Nuclear Propulsion Plant to support both initial and follow-on training in support of the US Navy. Specific responsibilities will include:
The development of computer models that simulate the operation of reactor and secondary plant systems
Testing of these models to ensure they are of an appropriate simulation level and provide an appropriate high fidelity
Documentation and defense of modelling decisions
The selected applicant will join a team of engineers that provide technical support for plant model simulation development which supports currently operating Aircraft Carriers and Submarines as well as platforms undergoing design. The applicant will be partnered with an experienced engineer who will mentor them and provide guidance in completion of their work assignments. Technical development will be accomplished through a combination of on-the-job training and participation in formal training seminars offered to new hires.
