Consulting Intern- Business Valuation & Forensic Accounting- Summer 2022 Metairie

Under direct supervision, a Consulting Intern-Business Valuation & Forensic Accounting assists with client services related to business valuation, forensic accounting, economic damages, and other complex financial analyses. As part of a team, this consultant will perform financial modeling and reporting related to financial analysis, discounted cash flow analysis, trading and acquisition multiples, and forensic accounting, among other skills to solve a client’s needs.

QUALIFICATIONS:
•Working towards a Bachelor’s or Masters of Science degree in Accounting, Economics, Finance, or Business field is required.
•Minimum GPA of 3.0 is preferred.
•Prior experience or education related to accounting, economics, or financial services is preferred
•Must exhibit a high degree of professionalism and maintain the highest level of confidentiality.
•Must be able to demonstrate critical thinking and analytical skills.
•Must have a desire to learn and be flexible.
•Must have excellent communication skills in business and technical environments.
•Must have the capability to professionally and appropriately communicate with a diverse group of individuals.
•Able to work in a dynamic, fast-paced, innovative, and continuously changing environment.
•Must be computer literate with the capability of performing at an intermediate or advanced level with respect to the Microsoft Office Suite, specifically Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
•May be required to work overtime and weekends.
•Be able to reach a client’s location/P&N office in a timely manner and to be on site at client and/or P&N offices to perform job responsibilities.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
•Under direct supervision, assists with data and document-intensive financial analysis and modeling/projections, strategic analysis, economic and statistical analysis, due diligence, valuation analysis, damage calculations and analysis, forensic accounting procedures, economic and industry research, and related investigative engagements.
•Prepares, completes, and ensures the accuracy of financial models and reports in a timely manner.
•Performs economic and industry research.
•Assists team members with various assignments to support other projects as needed
•Provides courteous and prompt service to all internal and external parties. Prioritizes and addresses requests and assignments in a professional and cooperative manner.
•Identifies opportunities and recommends methods to improve service, work processes and financial performance (e.g., procedure optimization).
•Assists in the implementation of quality improvement initiatives.
•Assists co-workers in the completion of tasks and assignments to ensure continuity of service. Actively supports teamwork throughout the organization.
