Under direct supervision and following established policies and procedures, coordinating the scheduling of inpatient and ambulatory surgical procedures for operating rooms according to predetermined block schedules and established policies and procedures.
Working with nursing, surgical and anesthesiology staff to monitor and evaluate scheduling procedures and develop strategies to promote efficient utilization of surgical suites. 
Coordinating surgical cases for multiple surgeons at multiple locations.
Maintaining clear and empathetic communication with patient families throughout the scheduling process to ensure that their experience is positive and provides them a high degree of satisfaction.
Developing relationships and collaborating effectively with outside departments and institutions to ensure the seamless flow of information and scheduling experience for the patient and the surgeon equally.
Recording and compiling scheduling information on hospital and departmental computer systems. Reviewing and verifying accuracy of basic patient information.
Identifying and communicating critical information, such as surgeon and physician availability, and special supply and equipment requests, to nursing and other appropriate staff, as necessary.
Compiling surgical charts to aid physicians in best care practices.
Scheduling pre-operative and post-operative appointments for clearance and post-operative care.
Monitoring insurance authorization for procedures and acquiring prior authorizations as needed.

Option to have remote/hybrid position when trained.
